John McCants

John began improvising when he was young, introducing his family to characters at the dinner table. A generous play director empowered him to improvise throughout high school theater. A formal intro to improv games in college—he was hooked.

Attending KCIC drop-in classes in 2019, continuing formal classes after, he found people excited to have fun, improve our craft, and do so together.

He moonlights as an artist, songwriter, and enjoys writing in third person. John joined the cast of The KCIC in November of 2023.
