Anna May Smith
Anna May Smith came to bustling Kansas City with nothing but a KU theatre degree and two dollars in her pocket. She has exactly that to her name to this day. Since 2010, she has performed with professional companies such as ComedyCity, the KC Improv Company, Improv Shop and various independent troupes. She is also a standup comedian, hitting stages across the Midwest, opening for acts such as Rhea Butcher and Chris Franjola, and in 2015, won a place in the Pitch's "Best of KC" in standup comedy. She has taught theatre classes for the Coterie Theatre and taught high school improv with Seriously Playful's Operation: Show! from 2014-2019. She currently co-produces and hosts a comedy variety show called The Thursday Night Show in Westport. She has been with KCIC since 2016, and is the creator and current director of KCIC's improvised "Degrassi" series, "Previously On." Anna has made KCIC her forever home, has all her shots, and only ever bit one kid.
